Some of Our Many Service Projects
- Chow for Children – A monthly food collection project is conducted to assist Chow for Children
- Community Dinner – Each year the club hosts a community dinner at the Church of the Redeemer in Sayre in January.
- Dictionary Program – Dictionaries are presented to 3rd grade students in the fall.
- International Service – We raise and contribute funds each year to Rotary humanitarian projects throughout the world. Our ongoing focus is on the Rotary Polio Plus project to eradicate polio worldwide.
- Maintain the Rotary Pavilion at the Sayre Riverfront Park constructed by the Club several years ago
- RYLA – This is a district leadership program offered to Sayre High School Students who have completed the 11th grade. A candidate is selected with the club paying the program fee.
- Salvation Army –
- A Rotary bell ringing day is held during the Christmas season to assist the Salvation Army with their kettle campaign
- Assist with toy distribution for Christmas is for Kids Program
- Sayre Borough Island Pond Project. We have purchased and installed two park benches and a flag pole on the island
- SHS Graduation Awards – Two business awards are presented each year to a graduate.
- Sponsoring of Programs – Various programs are sponsored including
- Scholarship Challenge,
- Christmas is for Kids,
- The Bridge Sleep-out.
- Thanksgiving Baskets – Thanksgiving dinner baskets are presented to area families in need.
- TOP 10 Banquet – This event is held in conjunction with the other Valley clubs and recognizes the top 10 graduating seniors from each school.
